Go Solar Wizard!
Creating and referring Solar Profiles has never been easier! We recently changed how Solar Pros and homeowners use our Solar Profiles with our Instant Estimate so we knew we needed to simplify the creation process. We received fantastic feedback from our Solar Club and I am proud to debut, the Solar Profile Wizard! Feel free to copy the steps presented here, just be sure you’re logged in and use “test” for the first name/last name.
For this example, I am logged in and on my Personal Profile. My next step is to click Start Here under Go Solar!
You can see that I entered an address and my next step is to click on Go Solar! You can see there are two drop downs, one that allows you to pick what kind of property you’ve entered and one for what your role is with the homeowner.
This is a single family house which is the default selected but please indicate what the property is so our Solar Guides will know before they reach out to you.
As you are a Solar Pro, you will be listed as the “Representative” by default.
Pro Tip: Select friend if you have a personal relationship with the homeowner even though you are the Solar Pro “Representative”. This is a great heads up for our Solar Guides!
The single largest point of feedback we received was that the window to pin the home in our old Solar Profile creation process was small. We listened and incorporated a larger window for the satellite imagery making it easier than ever before to locate and pin the correct home in addition to seeing the solar potential more clearly.
Pro Tip: Click “Hide Solar Potential” if you’re having difficulty dropping the pin on the center of the roof.
After you have verified the options you’ve selected, click confirm to move on to the next step which is “Summary”.
We wanted a way to quickly display the “Big 3” details from the Solar Profile: Your electricity offset, your total savings for the lifetime of the system and the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions the planet will enjoy thanks to the homeowner going solar. This is all based on the default data so these figures will be further refined when you enter the homeowner’s electricity usage.
Inviting homeowners to view their Solar Profile and Instant Estimate now has it’s own page so you can select the options that apply. We certainly recommend sharing the Solar Profile with your homeowner early on in the conversation as it will give them a great idea as to what solar can do for their unique needs.
Simply fill in their first name, last name, phone number, email address and that they are the property owner.
If you are not yet ready to invite the homeowner to their Solar Profile, simply click the skip button and the Solar Profile will remain in your name and unreferred. Be sure to let us know when you’re ready to refer the Solar Profile and move forward so that we can have a Solar Guide work with you and your homeowner!
After you have completed the wizard, you will see the first page on the Instant Estimate. Congratulations, you just successfully created a Solar Profile and Instant Estimate!
